R McDonald
originally studied Textile Design at the Glasgow School of Art
before being drawn towards Silversmithing and Jewellery
Design. (B.A. 1st Class Hons.) After completing an M.A. in Jewellery Design
at the Royal College of Art, London, Sheila then set up her workshop in South
Norfolk. The
collection of work features enamel on 18ct gold and silver, with fine gold wire
and gold leaf. The enamel colours are complimented with the use of semi precious
beads and stones to produce a series of brooches, necklaces, earrings and cufflinks. Some
pieces are finely engraved and enamelled whereas others are bold and painterly, using
transparent enamels with bright opaque colours and subtle fine gold details. | | |
